Leading scholar in the field of biological sciences visited the Faculty of Biotechnology at Namangan State University and held a meeting with students and faculty members.
Professor Aleksandr Leonovich Ebel of Tomsk State University and Academician Komiljon Tojibayev, Director of the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, visited the faculty as part of the program.
During the meeting, Professor Aleksandr Leonovich Ebel delivered a lecture titled “The Role of Citizen Science in Studying Invasive Plants in the Siberian Region.” In his presentation, he also provided detailed information about the capabilities and practical use of the iNaturalist platform. The lecture attracted great interest from students, who received comprehensive answers to their questions.
Following the lecture, Academician Komiljon Tojibayev encouraged students and researchers to actively observe nature—particularly the plant world—protect biodiversity, and actively contribute to the iNaturalist platform.
He also emphasized that scientific projects and various competitions could be organized in this area. In addition, he noted that the Institute of Botany would provide comprehensive support to students and researchers interested in implementing such initiatives.
At the conclusion of the event, Avazbek Batoshov, Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology, expressed his sincere gratitude to the guests for their visit and presented them with commemorative gifts.
