Two New Student Dormitories Named “35th Anniversary of Independence” Opened at Namangan State University

Today, August 29, Namangan State University held the opening ceremony of two new student dormitories with a total capacity of 1,200 students as part of the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Each of the dormitories, located at 30 Yangi Shahar Street, Tadbirkor Mahalla, Davlatabad District, has a capacity of 600 students and is equipped in accordance with modern standards. A total of 89 billion 959 million 100 thousand soums was allocated for the project.

The seven-story buildings provide all the necessary conditions for students to live, study and spend their free time meaningfully. Each floor has a spiritual and educational room, a kitchen and access to Wi-Fi.

The dormitories also include a library, computer rooms, laundry facilities and ironing rooms. Residential rooms are equipped with beds, tables and chairs, wardrobes and air conditioners.

A comprehensive video surveillance system has been installed to ensure the safety of students. A convenient and accessible environment has also been created for students with disabilities, with all necessary conditions provided for their accommodation on the first floor.

The opening ceremony was attended by Namangan Regional Governor Shavkatjon Abdurazzaqov, Rector of Namangan State University Abdug‘affor Qirg‘izboyev, regional sector heads, professors and teachers, students, and representatives of the public.

During the ceremony, Namangan Regional Governor Shavkatjon Abdurazzaqov, Rector of Namangan State University Abdug‘affor Qirg‘izboyev, and students delivered speeches and congratulated the participants on the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The speakers highlighted the large-scale reforms implemented during the years of independence to develop the education system, support science, and create достойные conditions for members of the academic and scientific community.

Particular attention was paid to the wide range of opportunities being created for young people to receive quality education, acquire modern knowledge and professional skills, and develop their scientific potential. The speakers emphasized that continued support for young people is an important factor in ensuring the country’s future and sustainable development.

Following the opening of the new dormitories, the number of student dormitories at Namangan State University has increased to four, with a total capacity of approximately 2,100 places. The proportion of students provided with accommodation has reached 60 percent.

The new student dormitories, named “35th Anniversary of Independence,” provide students with modern, safe and comfortable living conditions and represent a practical continuation of efforts to support students and create favorable conditions for their education, living and meaningful use of their free time.
