Department of Geography and Environmental Protection
At Namangan State University (former Pedagogical Institute), taking into account the needs of regional secondary schools, geography teacher training began for the first time in the 1969-1970 academic year. Until that time, most of the geography teachers working in the schools of our region studied at the Fergana State Pedagogical Institute, as well as at higher educational institutions of our country and neighboring countries.
In 1969-1970 academic year, 25 applicants who successfully passed the entrance exams were admitted to the "History-Geography" teacher specialty of the newly opened secondary general education schools.
Professors and teachers of the Department of Geography are consistently carrying out the tasks and implementation of the Law "On Education" of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Presidential Decrees, Decisions, and orders of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
