Department of English Language haqida batafsil ma'lumot

The Department of English Language is a structural unit of the Faculty of World Languages at Namangan State University. The department was founded on September 2, 2024, based on the departments of practical English language courses and the methodology of teaching English. The department has 30 members, including 1 professor, 3 associate professors, 3 candidates of sciences, 11 senior lecturers, 5 lecturers, and 7 teaching interns. The department trains bachelor's degree students in the field of 60111800 – Foreign Language and Literature (English language). The department conducts academic, educational-methodological, scientific research, organizational, and spiritual-educational activities, as well as the preparation, retraining, and professional development of scientific and pedagogical staff, and organizes spiritual-educational and upbringing events. The head of the department is Daminjanov Sobirjon Mukhamadjonovich.

The Department of English Language offers a postgraduate doctoral programs in the fields of 13.00.02 - Theory and Methodology of Education and Upbringing (by areas), 10.00.04 - Language and Literature of the Peoples of Europe, America, and Australia, as well as 10.00.06 - Comparative Literary Studies, Comparative Linguistics, and Translation Studies, where 9 doctoral students of the 3rd year, 13 doctoral students of the 2nd year, and 26 doctoral students of the 1st year are enrolled. 

In the 2024-2025 academic year, the faculty of the department strengthened its scientific potential, and teachers such as Tajiboev Ilkhomjon, Alikhanova Muqaddam, Valizhonov Sherzod, and Abduvahidova Khushnoza successfully defended their PhD dissertations.

In addition, Kholmatova Mahbuba, Abdullaeva Nargiza, Yuldasheva Dilfuza, and Nematjanova Dilafruz are independent researchers. Their topics have been published in the bulletin of Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the final stage of their dissertations is currently underway. The faculty members of the department have published over a hundred articles in internationally recognized journals and national publications, including 60 articles in international journals and 55 articles in national publications in 2024.

The faculty of the department has published a number of textbooks and manuals, such as: “O’rganilayotgan til tarixi” textbook, “English Matters” Student’s book, “English Matters” Teacher’s book, “B2READY,” “Cultural Bridges,” “Literary Studies,” “Sociolinguistics,” as well as a collection of lectures and seminar assignments on the subject of "Literary Studies." 

In the international sphere, the English department collaborates with the embassies of the USA, UK, Malaysia, India, and Germany. This collaboration is mainly carried out under the Faculty Enrichment Program (FEP) with the support of organizations like "American Corner" and the international organization "TESOL," as well as under the project-funded international organization Hornby Trust from the UK, the ITEC (Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation) program of the Indian government, the MTCP (The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme) program of the Malaysian government, and the international DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) program of the German government.

This year, the department plans to continue cooperation with higher education institutions that are listed among the 1,000 most prestigious universities in the world. To this end, as part of scientific collaboration between NamSU and prestigious universities, an agreement on advanced training and internships will be concluded.
