The foundation of the chair of Mathematics was opened for the first time under the chair of Natural Sciences in the 1945-1946 academic years on the basis of the Institute of Namangan Teachers. From 1955-1956, after it was transformed into the Namangan State Pedagogical Institute, the chair of Mathematics operated within the chair of Physics-Mathematics. Until 1960, the chair was headed by Gpofurov Murodkhan.

Since 1972, after the separation of the chair of Mathematics from the department of Physics and Mathematics, the chair operated in the field of mathematical analysis and teaching of mathematics.

Between 1972 and 1974, the chair was headed by associate professor J. Azimov. Experienced teachers worked in the chair are H.Otakhanov, T.Abdullaev, D.Otakozyev, A.Barukhov, U.Khojikhanov, T.Samatov, R.Mamasodikov, L.Gpaybullaev, N.SHokirova, F.Amirov, S. Murodkhodjaev, F. Najmiddinov and others were active. During this period, the chair of General Mathematics was headed by associate professor Yo. Aminov.

In the 1974-1975 academic year, the chair operated within the chair of Mathematical Analysis, and from 1977 to 1990, the chair was headed by Professor R. Ibragimov. During these years, T. Samatov, R. Mamasodikov, H. Olimov, Yu. Ergashev, S. Alikhanov, M. Kholmurodov, A. Mashrabboev, M. Karimov, A. Akbarov, D. Otakozyev, Yu. Toshmirzaev, S. Jamalov, E. Ahmedov, S. Murodkhodjaev, O. Sakhabov, K. Khusanov, A. Khalilov, M. Rakhmatullaev, Kh. Rasulov, F. Najmiddinov and others became Candidates of Science.

These professors and teachers became the laureate of the State Prize of Uzbekistan named after Beruni and worked the fields of problems of sciences as probability theory and mathematical statistics, random processes, branching processes, functional analysis, mathematics teaching methodology, algebra, geometry, mathematical modeling under the leadership of Professor M.Mamatov, who served as rector from 1971 to 1993 and was the owner "Order of Honor to the Country" and several medals, and with his additions.

Of course, our own mathematicians, academicians T.A.Sarimsakov, S.Kh.Sirojiddinov, M.S.Salohiddinov, T.A.Azlarov, SH.K.Farmanov, T.Oprozboev, professors M.U.Gpafurov, I.S.Badalbaev, J.Ikramov, academicians from Russian scientists are capable of the scientific work of these scientists. V. D. Belousov and others led. Since 1991, young scientists DSc.Ph.-M., M. Badalov, associate professor N.Khatamov, c.Ph.-M.Sc. T.Ergashev, Associate Professor H.Rasulov, H.Najmiddinova and others further increased the scientific potential of the chair.

Professors and teachers of the chair have been working closely with Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, UzFA, Uz MU and many other universities and institutes.

From 1991 until now, the chair of Mathematics was headed by M. Mamatov, D. Otakozyev, A. Mashrabboev, and N. Khatamov. The current chair of Mathematics has been referred to several names: Mathematical Analysis, Mathematical Analysis and Geometry, Probability Theory, Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory, Algebra and Mathematics Teaching Methodology.

Professors-teachers of the chair are the authors of many scientific and methodical articles, study guides, and textbooks. They participated and have been participating in International Conferences (M. Mamatov, M. Kholmurodov, A. Mashrabboev, R. Ibragimov, N. Khatamov). Information about those who worked in the chair during the years of Independence is as follows:

Professor M. Mamatov is the author of scientific-methodological articles on Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics and of the textbooks as "Collection of problems from Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics", "Teacher", 1991. (in collaboration with R.Ibragimov), "Using the legacy of Central Asian mathematicians at school", "Teacher", 1982 (in collaboration with R. Ibragimov), "Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics", T. 2008. (in collaboration with R.Ibragimov, and A.Mashrabboev) .

Associate professor D. Otaqo’ziyev (1941-2012) was expert in Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics. He was the head of the chair in 1981-1991, the dean of the faculty in 1992-1993 and was the author of about 40 scientific methodological works, about 10 teaching-methodical covers, in particular, "Mathematics cover" 2 books, Teacher 1990. (T.Azlarov, M.Mirzaakhmedov and others) and was the author of poetry books such as "Mathematical quizzes", "Mathematical song", "Mathematical gulshan", "Mathematical nights", "Man and the world".

Associate Professor Mamasodikov Rahimjon (2014), an expert in Mathematics Teaching Methodology. In 1987-1993, was the dean of the faculty,  and was the author of about 30 scientific-methodological articles and methodological covers.

Docent Yo. Aminov (1936-2014), a specialist in mechanics, was the  head of the chair in 1966-1977, was the dean of the Faculty of Mathematics in 1977-1987. He was the author of more than 40 scientific and methodical articles.

Professor R.Ibragimov, an expert in Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, was the head of the chair for 20 years, was the dean of the faculty, is the author of about 140 scientific and methodical works, and published 3 textbooks and "Limit theorems for the branching process" in cooperation with M. Mamatov ” monograph (T. 1991). His 15 scientific works were published in Moscow. The "Itogi Nauki" series was summarized in a serial book. He is the owner of the Order of "Dostlik" (1995). He has lectured at many world conferences. In 1971-1977, he lectured on Higher Mathematics on republican television. He is the organizer of the seminar on Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics at the chair.

Professor Alikhanov Sadiqjon (1946-2013) , an expert in Mathematics Teaching Methodology, was the head of the chair in 1991-1993, was the dean of the Faculty of Mathematics in 1994-2002, was the author of more than 60 scientific-methodical articles and many training manuals, in particular, he created the training manual "Mathematics Teaching Methodology", then textbook, and at the same time this book won the first place in the Republican contest.

Associate professor S.Murodkhopjaev, an expert of algebra, was the head of the chair, was the head of the university test center for many years, was the author of about 50 scientific works. His works were published in prestigious magazines of Russia, Moldavia, Yugoslavia, Hungary and our Republic.

Associate professor A. Mashrabboev, expert in probability theory and mathematical statistics, in 1993-1995, 1997-2002, head of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory, vice-rector of internal control and monitoring, vice-rector for finance and economics, dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics worked in positions such as Author of more than 60 scientific methodical works. He is the author of the textbook "Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics" (co-authored with M.Mamatov, R.Ibragimov), the monograph "Networking Process" of the "FAN" publishing house.

Associate Professor M. Kholmurodov, an expert in the Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics, was the head of the chair of Algebra and MTM, is the author of more than 60 scientific methodical articles and 6 textbooks. He participated in many international symposia with his lectures (Vilgpnyus, Kiev, Tashkent).            M. Kholmurodov’s has been effectively working with applied mathematics, and he has been achieving especially in the field of application of mathematics to medicine. He is a member of many grants.

Associate professor H. Rasulov, an expert by algebra, was the head of the chair of Algebra and MTM. He is the author of about 15 scientific and methodological works, 20 textbooks were printed in Tashkent, and his scientific works were published in Russia and in the prestigious journals of our republic.

Associate professor N. Khatamov, a specialist in Mathematical Equations of Physics, currently works as the head of the chair of Mathematics. He is the author of about 30 scientific and methodological works. In 2014, 4 scientific articles were published in the TMPh journal of Russia.

Associate Professor Yu.Toshmirzaev is an expert in differential equations. He is the author of about 20 scientific and methodological works.

Ph.D., senior teacher H. Najmiddinova, specialist in algebra, is the author of about 20 scientific and methodological works.

C.m.ph. T.Mirzaev is an expert in the Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics. He is the author of about 36 scientific and methodological works.

In addition, 10 young teachers work in the chair.

Associate Professor M.Rakhmatullaev at the Institute of Mathematics at the National University of Uzbekistan and senior teacher R. Khakimov are successfully working as scientific researchers.

From time immemorial, mature scientists of our republic have been coming to the chair to give lectures on various problems of mathematics. Not only the youth did not identify from the lectures of our deceased academicians T.A. Sarimsakov, S.Kh. Sirojddinov, V.K. Qobulov, T.A. Azlarov and our living academicians M.S. Salohiddinov, SH.K. Farmanov, SH. Ayupov, professors  U. Rozikov, B. Omirov for the future topics, but they became his disciples.

Not only scientists of our republic, but also advanced scientists of Russia B.V. Gnedenko, A.A.Baravkov, A.N.Shiryaev, B.A.Sevastyanov and others gave lectures.

In 2014, Korean university scientists also visited the chair.

A scientific seminar organized by professor M. Mamatov is working in the chair.

Our students who graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics, the present Faculty of Physics-Mathematics became candidates of Physics-Mathematics, Pedagogical Sciences in the future, including R. Mamasodikov, S. Alikhanov, D. Otakozyev, M.Kholmurodov, T. Ergashev, Kh. Rasulov, G. Yunusova, H. Najmiddinova, R. Ikramov, U. Bobohojaev and others can be included.

Professors and teachers of the department have been actively participating in important events not only at the university but also in the region.

Our students have been engaged in scientific methodical work since their student years, and they are led by professors and teachers of the department, in particular, current candidates of science H.Najmiddinova, T.Mirzaev, teachers I.Sattarov, and talented students J.Usmanov can be included.

The republican scientific and practical conference "New theorems of young mathematicians" established by academician T.A. Sarimsakov is organized every three years. In 2013, the next conference was held, 250 mature scientists, young mathematicians took part in it, guests from Russia also visited the conference, the three-part scientific collection was printed in 300 copies.

In May 2015, it is planned to hold a republican scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of academician S.Kh.Sirojiddinov.

Our department is inextricably linked with the NamPI and NamMI in our region, professor V. Hojiboev, associate professor A. Rahmanov give lectures.

The Department of Mathematics is closely connected with the regional vocational colleges and our three academic lyceums, where they give lectures.

Many educational and methodological works have been published with the permission of the educational and methodological council of Namangan State University, and our students are using them.

And since 2020, the name of this department will be "Mathematical Analysis" department.
