Since 1972, the faculty has been operating under such names as the Faculty of Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Physics and Technology, the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, the Faculty of General Engineering Sciences and the Faculty of Artistic Graphics, and from October 14, 2020, it was renamed as the Faculty of Physics based on the initiatives of Namangan State University Rector S.T. Turgunov. is being carried.

Currently, the faculty has a department of Physics and Physics Teaching Methodology. The Faculty has 60530900-Bachelor of Physics and 70530901 - Physics (by directions), 70530905 - Semiconductor Physics, 70530904 - Renewable Energy Sources and Master's Degrees specializing in physics of sustainable environment.

In this direction, the professors and teachers of the Faculty of Physics are also organizing purposeful work and systematically establishing cooperation activities in physics clubs and skill centers established in 3 regions of our region. For example, in schools 10, 16, 22 in the city of Namangan, school 12 in Kosonsoy district, and 17 schools in Yangigorgan district, 13 professors of the Faculty are working to increase the pedagogical potential of school teachers as methodical support for physics teachers. In order to introduce new methods of teaching, to create a methodical guide, methodical instructions aimed at developing the level of knowledge in science, master classes were systematically introduced. In addition, 3 technical schools in the region, Norin district "Household service and service", Uychi district "Physical training and sports", Torakorgan district "Agrosanoat" technical schools are attached to the faculty.

In our country, work in the socio-economic, spiritual and educational spheres will be launched on the basis of a new system, and the implementation of the neighborhood work system will improve the lifestyle of the population, raise their morale, and allow them to live contentedly with today's environment. and higher education cooperation was established, "Baynalminal" MFY in the city of Namangan was attached to the Faculty of Physics. A number of practical works are being carried out with this neighborhood.

Today, the departments of Physics and Physics Teaching Methodology are operating at the faculty. 26 professors work at the faculty, 11 of them are candidates of science and associate professors, 6 are PhDs, and 9 are senior teachers and lecturers.

At present, 344 people are studying in the field of full-time education, 154 people in the field of evening education, and 26 people are studying in the field of magisterial specializations of the Faculty of Physics.

The faculty building was completely renovated in 2019 and is equipped with modern teaching laboratories in the field of Physics brought from Germany. Today, in the laboratories of mechanics, molecular physics, electricity and magnetism, optics, radioelectronics, electrical engineering, as well as 1 virtual laboratory, students are studying and improving their theoretical knowledge in practice. are achieving a number of achievements in the fields. In particular, in the last three years, 4 professors-teachers have obtained the scientific degree of doctor of philosophy (PhD) in physics and mathematics. A. Davlatov, a teacher of the physics department, was awarded the badge "Sign of Uzbekistan". Ten professors-teachers have entered the basic doctoral studies and are conducting scientific research to contribute to the faculty's scientific potential.

In addition, in 2023, Azimjon Azamjon's son and Takhirjonova Muattar Rasuljon's daughter won the "Ulugbek" scholarship competition in 2023.

Today, enthusiastic professors and teachers are developing and implementing necessary measures to further develop the faculty's future activities, increase scientific potential, and ensure high-performance participation of students in science olympiads and competitions. During these efforts, all teachers of all faculties are working with all their strength and enthusiasm for the development of our society.
