Head of the department of Applied English

The Department of Applied English is considered a structural subdivision of the Faculty of English Philology of Namangan State University, where educational, and methodological, scientific research, organizational and spiritual-educational work is carried out in one or more related disciplines. Special attention is also paid to the training, retraining and advanced training of scientific and pedagogical personnel, spiritual and educational activities. The department was organised in 2019. Currently, the department is headed by Daminjanov Sobirjon Mukhammadjonovich. The department consists of the head of the department, 1 Associate professor, 7 Senior teachers, 8 teachers (assistants), 11 trainee teachers and 9 main doctoral students, as well as 1 head of the office. The department provides training to undergraduate students of full-time and evening study in the direction 60111800-Foreign language and literature (English). There are 10 basic doctoral students studying at the department. Of these, 4 are 1st year doctoral students and 5 doctoral students whose dissertations are being carried out according to the plan. In addition, Kholmatova Makhbuba, Abdurakhmanova Khushnoza, Nemadzhonova Dilafruz are independent researchers whose scientific topics are published in the bulletin of the Higher Attestation Commission. Nowadays the researchers at the final stage of their dissertation work.

 More than 100 scientific articles were published by teachers of the department in internationally recognized scientific journals and national journals. In 2023, the publication amounted to 33 articles in international journals and 42 articles in republic journals. Teachers of the department have created a number of textbooks and manuals for teachers and students to use, such as “English Matters” Book for Students, “English Matters” Book for Teachers, “B2READY”, “Cultural Bridges”, “Literary Studies”, “Sociolinguistics”, a collection of lectures “Collection of Lectures and Seminars” assignments according to " discipline “Literary criticism.

 In 2024, it is planned to continue cooperation with the top best higher education institutions in the world. Consequently, professors and teachers of the department signed an agreement on scientific cooperation between Namangan State University and prestigious universities for further scientific and educational activities.
