Head of the Department of Biology

The Department of Biology was created in 1975 on the basis of the Faculty of Geography and Biology. Educational, pedagogical, scientific and pedagogical work is carried out at the department in one direction “Biology”. In recent years, F. Akhmedbaeva (1975-1984), A. Dariev (1984-1987), T. Vohidov (1986-1994), A. Valiev (1994-1997), Sh. Tozhiboev (1998-2000), V. Azizov (2000-2007), I. Togaev (2007-2008), E. Ikromov (2008-2010), I. Togaev (2011-2012) were heads of the department. Currently, the department is under the leadership of D. Komilov.

- In the 2021-2022 academic year, student of the Faculty of Biology YusufjonovaMunisa became the laureate of the state scholarship named after Ulugbek. Scientific supervisor: PhD. Yu. Tokhtaboeva.

-In the 2022-2023 academic year, the winner of the “Presidential Scholarship” was YusufjonovaMunisa, a student at the Faculty of Biology. Scientific supervisor: PhD. Y. Tokhtaboeva

Scientific activity.

Our department pays great attention to scientific activities. Full-time teachers of our department have established scientific activities in their specialties, mainly in collaboration with the Institute of Botany and the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. The department is carrying out relevant work on the plan for holding a scientific conference on the topic “Biodiversity of the Fergana Valley.” Our department, together with the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, began work on holding an international scientific conference in May on the basis of Namangan State University.
