Head of the department

On October 14, 2020, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education approved the new structure of Namangan State University. According to the structure, the Faculty of "Music Education and Culture" was established. The department of "Socio-cultural activities and music education" within the Faculty of Arts of Namangan State University was transferred to the faculty. As a result of the division of the "Socio-cultural activity and music education" department transferred to the "Music education and culture" faculty, the "Music education" and "Cultural studies" departments were established. From September 4, 2023, the "Music education" department Departments of "Music Education" and "Cultural Studies" within the Faculty of "Education and Cultural Studies" were merged, created under the name of "Music Education and Cultural Studies" department, and joined the faculty of "Pedagogy".

Over the past years, the Department of "Cultural Studies" has organized 60111300-Music Education, 60211400-Vocal Art (traditional singing), 60211500- Instrumental Performance (Folk Instruments), 5151700-Culture and art institutions. organization and management and 5350600-Library information activity educational directions were opened. Over the past years, faculty members of the department have been paying special attention to individual work with talented students with research potential. 

Professors and teachers of the department have prepared about ten monographs and training manuals in the scientific-methodical field. More than 70 scientific articles have been published in the last 3 years in OAK-owned and foreign prestigious journals.

Currently, the head of the department, Ph.D., Associate Professor O.Topildiyev, Doctor of History, Professor R.H.Murtazayeva, is writing a doctoral dissertation to obtain the degree of Doctor of Science (DSs.) Under the guidance of associate professor of the department B. Inatullayev, candidate of art sciences, associate professor, Kh.D. Kholmirzayev in scientific consultancy in scientific consultancy, department teacher f. Mirhakimova wrote her doctoral dissertation on the subject of "The role of home museums in the study of the history of Uzbekistan" to receive the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) under the scientific supervision of Professor N.A. Mustafoyeva, Doctor of History, Department Teacher Tokhtasinov Abror Rustamovich "Future Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, professor Q.B. They are working on their doctoral dissertation in the scientific consultancy of Panjiyev Scientific Consultancy.

Today, the Department of "Music Education and Cultural Studies" is the State Institute of Art and Culture of Uzbekistan, Fergana State University, Namangan Regional Department of Culture, Namangan Regional Department of Public Education, Namangan Information Library Center named after "Nodirabegim", Namangan Regional Youth Center, Barkamol Avlod Children's Art Center, Namangan Specialized School of Art, Namangan Specialized School of Culture are cooperating on the basis of cooperation agreements. 

n the future, efforts are being made to obtain the title of 1 Doctor of Science (DSs.) and 4 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), 1 associate professor. As a result, it is planned to gradually increase the scientific potential of the department to 60% in the next 3 years. In the future, it is planned to participate in DITD competitions with projects, conclude business contracts and find funds through scientific research, publish articles in international scientific publications included in the "Scopus" database, and increase the number of students who won prizes in the Republican Olympiads and other prestigious competitions.

Since September 4, 2023, the department has been operating under the name of the "Music Education and Cultural Studies" department within the "Pedagogy" faculty.
