Head of the department of Fine and Applied Arts

In 1987, under the faculty of Pedagogy of the Namangan State Pedagogical Institute named after Khamza, the candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor Badirjon Nuriddinovich Oripov initiated the opening of the "Fine Art, Drawing and Labor" speciality, which created the foundation for the establishment of the department. Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, associate Professor Gafiyatulla Tubayev was appointed the first head of the department in the history of the department. Then associate professors B.N. Oripov, Botirsher Jabbarov, Alijon Turdialiyev, Abdinabi Amanullayev, and Uktamjon Abdullayev worked as department heads. 

In 1993, as a result of the expansion of the department's activities, the Faculty of "Art-Graphics and General Engineering" was established. 

At this time, candidates of science Tubayev Gafiyatulla, Kyrgyzboyeva Nafisakhan, Oripov Badirjon, Turdiyev Nurmukhammad, Numanov Damirjon, senior teachers Rakhmonberdiyev Makhmudjon, Ashurov Torajon, Turdialiyev Alijon, Jabbarov Botirsher, Shahodatov Mirjalal and teachers Amanullayev Abdinabi, Ruzinov Bakhtiyor, Mukhtarova Rokhilakhan worked there.

Since 1998, the Faculty of "Art Studies" has been operating as an independent faculty. Dean B.N.Oripov, head of department A.Turdaliyev, A.Amanullayev in 2003, U.Abdullayev in 2007, A.Turdaliyev in 2011, U.Abdullayev in 2012, B.Jabbarov in 2013, and U. Abdullayev in 2015 worked as a manager. Meanwhile, since 2019, B. Oripov has been appointed as the head of the department.

In 1996, Alijon Turdaliyev received the scientific degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences. In 2001, Botirsher Jabbarov received the scientific title of associate professor, and Abdinabi Amanullayev the scientific degree of candidate of pedagogical sciences. In 2007, Abdinabi Amanullayev, and Uktamjon Abdullayev received the scientific title of associate professor, in 2008, Dilmurod Pulatov received the scientific degree of candidate of art science and in 2018, the title of associate professor, in 2019, Khakimjon Rizayev received the scientific title of associate professor. In 2023, Sharifjonov Muhiddin and Isakov Abduvohid received the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in pedagogical sciences. 2024 Amanullayev Abdunabi received the scientific title of professor. In 2008, National Artist of Uzbekistan, Academician Askarbek Akparov joined the faculty of the department, which made a special contribution to the development of the department.

In August 2019, according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev, as in many higher educational institutions, the Faculty of Art was established at NamSU, and the department was named "Fine and Applied Art".

In issue 6.1 of the meeting of the University Council on January 7, 2021, No. 4, the departments of "Fine Art and Engineering Graphics" and "Applied Art and Painting" were established based on the "Fine and Applied Art" department of the Faculty of Arts.

In issue 6.2 of the meeting of the University Council on August 30, 2023, No. 1, "Fine Art and Engineering Graphics" and "Applied Art and Painting" departments were established based on the Faculty of Pedagogy.
