Objectives of educational programmes
The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Chemistry aims to prepare graduates with fundamental theoretical knowledge, practical laboratory skills, and introductory research competencies relevant to the chemical sciences and aligned with labor market needs. Graduates of the programme are able to apply core chemical theories and concepts in academic and professional contexts, safely conduct standard laboratory experiments in compliance with chemical safety regulations, use basic analytical methods, computational tools, and data analysis techniques, critically evaluate scientific information and experimental results, participate in applied research projects under supervision, and contribute to sustainable and environmentally responsible chemical practices.
Graduates of the Master’s Degree Programme in Chemistry are capable of leading scientific research and pedagogical activities in higher education and industry. They are able to design, implement, and manage advanced research projects and educational processes in accordance with international standards. Graduates possess the competence to develop innovative educational and methodological resources, effectively supporting specialized and distance learning. They are prepared to conduct independent, cutting-edge scientific research, utilizing sophisticated techniques and instrumentation for in-depth experimental studies central to the master’s thesis. Furthermore, graduates can critically analyze and integrate modern national and international scientific advancements, plan complex research, interpret multifaceted data, publish results in scholarly venues, and propose novel solutions to fundamental and applied chemical problems. They demonstrate high professional ethics, adept scientific communication skills, rigorous analytical thinking, and a commitment to continuous professional and scientific excellence.

Infrastructure and resources
Laboratories and technical equipment: The faculty has 12 educational and 5 scientific laboratories. Starting from 2022, in order to ensure the implementation of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 22, 2018 No. 942, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education, within the framework of the project “Strengthening the material and technical base of higher educational institutions” with the participation of the Islamic Development Bank, imported and put into operation modern educational and laboratory equipment worth 350 thousand US dollars.
Events and Activities
Student Organizations: The faculty is also a scientific and methodological platform for the activities of the "Integrated Scientific Center for Geographical Research" and the scientific and practical creative club "GeoResident". The activities of the youth social and environmental movement "Ecomacon", "Ecological Center", circles "Young Chemist", "Programmer-Chemist", "Repeater", "Scientific and Innovative", "Geographer", "Meteorologist", "Ecologist", "Intellectual Club" have also been established.
Student activities: In order to provide comprehensive support to students, to assist talented and gifted students, and to further develop their abilities, the faculty has created such clubs, projects and groups as “Five Important Initiatives and Sports”, “Working with Talented and Gifted Youth”, “Support for People in Need of Social Protection and Patriotism”, “I am an Uzbek Girl”, “I am an Uzbek Boy”, “Volunteer Youth”, “Ecopatrol”, “Geography Coordinator”, “Ecology and Meteorology Coordinator”, “Chemistry Coordinator”, “Student Theatre Studio and QVZ Team”, and the students themselves participate in the implementation of youth policy in these areas.
International Cooperation: Scientists of the faculty have achieved a number of results in the framework of international cooperation. In particular, Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry Olimzhon Abdullaev worked at the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2015 to 2019 and was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In addition, he won first place in the competition of foreign scientists working in China and was awarded a gold medal. Our masters defended their dissertations at various research institutes that are part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Among them, Begmatov Nurmirza and Kamoldinov Hamid received their doctoral degrees directly from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Kadyrkhanov Jamshid received his doctoral degree from a higher education institution that is among the top 300 in the world.
D. Sattarova conducted research internships at the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in the 2011/2012 academic year, funded by a UNESCO grant, and in 2018, funded by the Talent Fund.
Currently, three of our graduates are studying for their doctorate at universities in Paris (France), which are among the top 100 in the world, three are doctoral students at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and one is studying for his doctorate in Poland.
In addition, our departments cooperate in the field of science with universities that are among the top 300 leading universities in the world, in particular with Aachen University in Germany, Paris PSL University in France, University of Antwerp in Belgium and Vrije University in the Netherlands. As a result of cooperation, in May-June 2023, M. Khakimov returned from a 2-month scientific internship at Vrije University in the Netherlands, funded by a grant from the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and in 2024 - from a 3-month internship.
Scientists of the Department of Geography and Environmental Protection have established mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign universities, research institutes and centers (Russian Federation, India, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan), editorial boards of scientific and methodological journals. Associate Professor of the Department B. Abdurakhmanov conducted a scientific internship at the Institute of Physiology and Genetics named after A.I. Herzen, in 2019, Associate Professors K. Boymirzaev and I. Soliev completed a scientific internship at the Kazakh State Pedagogical University named after Abay, in 2021-2024 Associate Professors H. Mirzaakhmedov, B. Abdurakhmanov, teachers I. Akaboev and I. Turdaliev held lectures and meetings at Osh State University, and in the 2024-2025 academic year, Associate Professors Sh. Z. Dzhumakhanov and I. R.
